HRH The Prince Philip, The Duke of Edinburgh

Whittington Parish Council are deeply saddened by the news of the death of His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, The Duke of Edinburgh. Our thoughts are with Her Majesty The Queen and her Family at this terribly sad time. The Duke of Edinburgh visited the Infantry Junior Leaders Battalion at Park Hall Camp on 26th May 1967 and many residents will have participated in his award scheme – The Duke of Edinburgh Award.

The wishes of the Royal family and government guidance and public health advice s that there should be no physical books of condolences, but the public are invited to contribute to the national online book of condolence on the Royal website.  Laying of floral tributes are also discouraged and the public are encouraged to donate to one of His Royal  Highness’ charities as a fitting way of paying tribute to The Duke of Edinburgh.
