During this time there will be several public meetings open to all, throughout the county where the Local Plan process and local development proposals will be explained. There will be the opportunity to highlight issues, specific concerns and suggest alternatives to the preferred approach set out in the consultation document. Please come along and have your say on how your community is shaped for the future.
The Oswestry place plan area meeting will be held on Tuesday 15th January 2019 at The Marches School, Morda Road, Oswestry, SY11 2AR and will commence at 7:00pm.
The Preferred Sites Consultation Document outlines a housing policy direction to improve the delivery of local housing needs and establishes development guidelines and development boundaries for Shrewsbury, the Principal and Key Centres and each proposed Community Hub. It sets out the preferred sites to deliver the preferred scale and distribution of housing and employment growth during the period 2016 to 2036.
Shropshire Councillor, Robert Macey, Portfolio Holder for Planning and Housing Development said “The presentation at Oswestry will provide an opportunity for residents and other stakeholders to learn more about the proposals. This will specific presentation will include details for Oswestry Town as a Principal Centre and the eleven surrounding community hubs including Gobowen, Weston Rhyn, St Martins, Whittington, West Felton, Ruyton Xi Towns, Llanymynech, Pant, Knockin, Kinnerley and Trefonen. The community will have the opportunity to question Shropshire Council planning policy officers and to hear the latest details for their area. I urge residents to attend this public meeting and air their views on the proposed sites within the Oswestry Place Plan area”
