Did you know that Oswestry’s two U3As have a combined membership of nearly 600 members? This must make it one of the largest voluntary organisations in the town.
U3A is an international movement for retired/semi-retired people to continue their educational, social and creative interests in a friendly and informal environment. Members draw upon their knowledge and experience to teach and learn from each other. It’s all voluntary, with activity sessions, usually in members’ homes, covering 70 different subjects, between the two U3As in Oswestry. U3A is an informal, co-operative volunteer-led organisation which embraces everyone – all backgrounds, religions and cultures. There are no formal qualifications or exams to pass. The U3A draws on the strengths and enthusiasms of all its members.
